I really like how you've developed this into a quest with a character we can follow through the story.
Thank you! I had a couple of recommendations to try this treatment to avoid the most costly "lift the flap" style of PB. Dot is actually a pet ladybug and ends up preferring her own home at the end, a box with airholes and a damp leaf.
Hi JoanR! Really like this story's search for the perfect home, as well as the message that homes come in all different styles, shapes and sizes. It's great that you show the habitats and living environments of different animals and creatures in such a fun way. Especially like this line: “A possibility, Dot. You do like to hibernate.”

I liked your story before, but I do think this new approach has added something special. And I love the name "Dot" for the ladybug - it's cute without being cutesy. One publisher you may want to consider submitting to is Chronicle Books - they do more interesting physical forms of books (don't know how to best phrase that) and the "lift-the-flap" might not be a drawback for them.
