I hope you will consider publishing my picture book, PIRATE STEW, written in 270 words. A quirky, humorous rhyming tale, PIRATE STEW's brisk pacing and entertaining imagery are marketed for children 2-6.
A ship full of hungry pirates can mean big trouble! But any pirate worth his eye patch knows the way to please a rowdy crew--Pirate Stew. A zany mix of everything Pirates like best: shark fin, kelp, and gold doubloons are just a few of the ingredients in this silly recipe. But be careful mate. If it's good, they might demand another plate!
I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and though I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, I presently run a small Daycare/Preschool facility. As you can imagine, picture books are a big part of our day!
PIRATE STEW is a stand alone but has series potential with completed titles: Cowboy Stew, Witches Brew, and Christmas Stew. Thank you for your time and consideration. I truly look forward to hearing from you!

This book sounds like a lot of fun. I get a great sense of your voice and your sense of humor. You may want to scale back on the exclamation points, though. I go back and forth about whether or not you need to mention the series potential... but I think I'm leaning towards it is a good idea. I find myself intrigued by the other titles, and I know that there are editors in search of picture book series. Good luck!
Very fun idea, and pirates are popular. I wonder if your opening sentence could be tightened up a bit, something like: Please consider PIRATE STEW, my 270-word rhyming picture book about.... Make sure whatever you put after the ... shows that the story is quirky--that way you don't have to describe it and your lovely book will shine through.
I like this alot! PIRATES are definitely popular right now, and I can see how it would be illustrated already. I think the series potential is there, but WITCHES BREW just isn't as unique as PIRATE STEW or COWBOY STEW so maybe consider removing that one or retitling? Best of luck!
Thank you for your thoughts! Unfortunately, pirates are so popular that I've received many rejections that say there are too many pirate books in the market currently. Hopefully someone loves the concept enough to publish my book anyway!
